One of our favourite things to do on the island is eat fish and chips at Amity Point as the sun goes down and watch the wild dolphins approach the jetty as pelicans also fly in. You can almost touch the dolphins they come so close to shore.

BYRON BAY TO UPPER CLARENCE RIVER

SE Queensland, Australia

Experience an unforgettable adventure in Northern New South Wales! Begin your journey with a delectable dinner in Byron Bay, followed by a refreshing swim and exploration of the lighthouse. If you’re feeling adventurous, indulge in some bike riding or other sports activities.

Next, we’ll head inland to visit seven stunning waterfalls over the course of a week. Five of these waterfalls offer the perfect opportunity for a refreshing swim. You’ll be mesmerized by the beauty of these natural wonders and the tranquility they offer.

The highlight of this trip is a 30km hike over three days at Clarence River Wilderness Lodge, near the confluence with Tooloom Creek. The hike features three river crossings, and we provide a pack raft to cross the river. However, if you’re feeling daring, you can swim across! You’ll need to bring your own food for the three-day hike.

After an exhilarating hike, relax in a natural “spa” in the middle of Clarence River and enjoy a drink in the late afternoon. The last day at Upper Clarence Wilderness Lodge we'll canoe the Clarence River and afterwards we embark on a seven-kilometer loop hike to one of the biggest free-fall waterfalls in Northern NSW.

This wilderness trip starts and ends in Byron Bay and promises to be an experience you’ll never forget! 🌿🌊🥾

JATBULA TRAIL TOP END SAFARI

Katherine, Northern Territory, Australia

The Jatbula Trail is a 62-kilometer one-way walking trail in the Northern Territory of Australia. It starts at Nitmiluk Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park and finishes at Edith Falls 5 days later, also known as Leliyn in the Aboriginal Jawoyn language. This epic hike traverses Nitmiluk National Park, up in the top end of Australia’s Northern Territory. It offers breathtaking views of magnificent waterfalls tumbling from high quartzite cliffs, shady monsoon forests, and stunning Jawoyn Aboriginal rock art. The trail follows the route traveled by generations of Jawoyn people between the Gorge and Edith Falls1.

Included with this tour is a visit to the thermal pools of Bitter Springs, Mataranka Springs and Katherine Springs,

We attend the Katherine Outback experience Show and stay at Manbulloo Station and Mount Bundy Stations - the former a working cattle station on the banks of the Katherine RIver and the latter one of the oldest original Cattle Stations of the NT.

To top this trip off we go for a dip at Litchfield National Park and call in and participate in Matt Wright's Top End Safari Tour that encompases crocodile cruise, air boat rides, feeding crocs, a Barra Burger and a helicopter flight over the crocodile santuary.

The Tooloom Gold hike is approximately 30km over three days and two nights held in the rugged ranges where the Tooloom Creek and Clarence River flow to their confluence.

The Tooloom Gold hike is an adventurous trek spanning approximately 30 kilometers over three days and two nights. It takes place in the rugged ranges where the Tooloom Creek and Clarence River converge. This hike offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich history of gold mining in the Upper Clarence River and Tooloom Creek areas, which have witnessed both the gold rush years and more recent mining activities. As you traverse the trail, you’ll encounter intriguing remnants of gold mine operations, adding an element of exploration to your journey.

The hike entails three creek crossings, two of which require a pack raft, while the third involves canoes. In the past, some hikers have even opted for a refreshing swim across the creek while their packs are transported by raft. Throughout the course, you’ll encounter numerous crystal-clear streams that meander through the landscape (seasonally). These present perfect opportunities for a revitalizing swim. After completing the hike, you can unwind with drinks in a natural spa nestled in the heart of the river—a truly rejuvenating experience.

To enhance your overall experience, you’ll spend the first and last nights at the enchanting Clarence River Wilderness Lodge. Here, you can relish wood-fired pizzas, cozy up by a beautiful campfire, and savor breathtaking views of the meandering river.

The Western Arthur Range Traverse is a challenging multi-day hike in the Southwest National Park of Tasmania. It is considered one of the more challenging hikes in Tasmania, attracting skilled walkers who are up for a challenge. The traverse covers a distance of approximately 67 kilometers and takes around 6-7 days to complete.

The hike starts off flat before ascending steeply up Alpha Moraine, reaching the crest of the Western Arthur Range. From there, the trail continues with some boulder hopping and rock scrambling, passing below the summit of Mount Hesperus.

The Western Arthur Range Traverse offers an incredible adventure in a remote and often inhospitable environment, making it an excellent choice for experienced hikers seeking a thrilling experience away from the crowds.
